Jupiter Spot V2 launches as complete trading terminal on Solana
The dominant Solana DEX aggregator rolls out a rebuilt platform with Ultra Mode, smart orders, and token scoring.

Jupiter, the dominant decentralized exchange aggregator on Solana, has launched Spot V2, a rebuilt trading platform that transforms the protocol from a simple swap router into a full-featured trading terminal. The upgrade, released on July 29, 2026, introduces an execution engine that claims to cut trading costs by a factor of ten, alongside smart order types and organic token scoring. For a protocol that already routes over 50% of all DEX volume on Solana, this is less of an upgrade and more of a moat-widening exercise.
Ultra Mode and New Features
The centerpiece of Spot V2 is Ultra Mode, which automatically optimizes trades to minimize total cost, including gas and slippage. The platform also offers real-time slippage estimation, showing users a live estimate before they confirm a transaction. Smart trigger orders allow traders to set conditional trades that execute automatically when specific on-chain conditions are met. For perpetual contracts, Jupiter now supports limit orders and one-transaction trading, removing friction that competitors had already eliminated.
In addition, Jupiter introduced an organic scoring system for tokens, designed to surface assets based on authentic activity signals rather than easily manipulated market cap or volume rankings.
Strategic Acquisitions
Spot V2 launched alongside news that Jupiter had acquired majority stakes in Moonshot, a token launch platform, and Sonarwatch, a portfolio tracking and analytics service. These acquisitions give Jupiter a direct pipeline into new token distribution and enhanced data capabilities. The market reacted positively, with the JUP token climbing approximately 8% after the announcements.
What This Means
Jupiter is transitioning from an aggregator — essentially middleware — into a full-stack trading platform. For JUP holders, this represents a significant expansion of potential revenue streams. If Spot V2 executes as promised, it could cement Jupiter's near-monopoly position in Solana DeFi. However, integrating Moonshot and Sonarwatch successfully will be crucial to realizing the intended synergies. The beta launch with a phased rollout means the final product is still evolving, but the direction is clear: Jupiter aims to match centralized exchange experience while maintaining the decentralization properties that make DeFi attractive.
