Nasdaq-Listed Solana Company Gains Strategic Enterprise Status in Hong Kong
Hong Kong has selected Nasdaq-listed Solana Company as a strategic enterprise, supporting its plan to establish an Asia-Pacific headquarters and operate Solana validators in the city.

Hong Kong has designated Solana Company (NASDAQ: HSDT) as a strategic enterprise under a government initiative designed to attract businesses that contribute to the city’s economic development. The digital asset infrastructure firm plans to establish its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong and operate Solana validator infrastructure there.
Hong Kong’s Strategic Enterprise Program
Solana Company said it was selected by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, or OASES, as part of the program’s seventh batch. The latest group includes 18 enterprises, bringing the initiative’s total to 142 companies since its creation in 2022.
The broader roster includes multinational companies such as Pfizer, GSK, Roche, Dassault Systèmes, DiDi and artificial-intelligence developer MiniMax. Solana Company said it is the only blockchain infrastructure firm onboarded by OASES in 2026.
The designation gives the company a government-backed platform as it builds out its regional presence. Its Hong Kong office will serve as the base for an executive team overseeing operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Validator Infrastructure and Institutional Services
Solana Company describes its business as a combination of digital asset treasury management, staking, validator operations and advisory services for financial institutions. Through its Pacific Backbone initiative, it plans to establish validator operations in Hong Kong, potentially giving the city a more direct role in supporting the Solana network.
Chairman and CEO Joseph Chee said Asia-Pacific is central to the company’s strategy. He identified Hong Kong as the location from which the firm will advise institutions and develop infrastructure across the region, citing the city’s position as an international financial center.
The company’s planned activities include:
- Establishing an Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.
- Operating Solana validators from the city.
- Providing staking, treasury and infrastructure services to financial institutions.
- Expanding advisory and digital asset operations across Asia-Pacific.
Hong Kong’s Digital Asset Push
The strategic enterprise designation follows a broader effort by Hong Kong to develop a regulated digital asset market. Solana Company pointed to the city’s First Five-Year Plan, which sets an objective of creating a world-leading licensing and regulatory regime for digital assets.
The policy environment also includes Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Project Ensemble tokenization initiative and regulated stablecoin trading on licensed platforms. Together, these measures could provide a clearer framework for institutions exploring blockchain infrastructure and tokenized financial products.
What This Means
For Solana, the move may strengthen its institutional footprint in Asia-Pacific by placing validator infrastructure alongside a major financial hub. It also gives HSDT a formal signal of government recognition as Hong Kong competes to attract digital asset businesses.
The designation does not itself guarantee adoption, revenue or expanded network activity. The market will likely focus on whether Solana Company converts the announcement into operational validators, institutional mandates and broader regional partnerships. Its shares were recently trading at $2.26, compared with a 52-week high of $7.21, underscoring that investors may demand measurable execution beyond the strategic status announcement.
