Solana’s Tokenized Equity Market Reaches $465 Million as Healthcare Stocks Go Onchain
Backpack Securities has added tokenized Moderna and Eli Lilly shares through the Sunrise liquidity gateway, pushing Solana’s onchain equity supply to a new all-time high.

Solana’s tokenized equity market has reached $465 million in total supply after Backpack Securities listed tokenized shares of Moderna and Eli Lilly through the Sunrise liquidity gateway. The additions mark another step in the network’s rapid expansion of onchain access to traditional stocks.
Healthcare Stocks Expand Solana’s Onchain Market
The new listings give investors exposure to two major pharmaceutical companies through tokens trading as $MRNA and $LLY. The healthcare additions arrive as interest in mRNA therapies and pharmaceutical markets remains elevated, broadening the range of traditional equities available within Solana’s digital-asset ecosystem.
Backpack Securities launched in June 2026 with tokenized SpaceX shares, introduced on the same day SpaceX debuted on Nasdaq. The firm later added Micron and now represents approximately 5% of Solana’s total tokenized equity supply. Despite that relatively small share of outstanding supply, Backpack-issued equities account for more than 50% of weekly trading volume.
The latest listings have helped push total tokenized equity supply to a fresh all-time high. Solana also commands roughly 95% of decentralized tokenized-equity spot volume, while cumulative transaction values across the broader ecosystem surpassed multi-billion-dollar levels earlier in 2026.
24/7 Trading and DeFi Composability
Tokenized equities on Solana trade around the clock on decentralized venues including Jupiter and Raydium. Unlike shares held through a conventional brokerage account, onchain equity positions can be integrated with other digital-asset applications.
Key differences include:
- Trading access: Solana-based equities can trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week, rather than following traditional exchange hours.
- Composability: Tokens held in a Solana wallet can potentially be swapped, used as collateral, or routed through liquidity protocols.
- Portfolio integration: Investors can hold tokenized stocks alongside Treasury tokens and other real-world assets in a single onchain portfolio.
- Exit path: Backpack’s model supports redemption back to traditional brokerage accounts, giving users a route back to conventional markets.
Solana’s high throughput, low transaction costs, and fast finality make the network suited to markets where execution speed and price sensitivity are important. Those characteristics have helped the blockchain capture a dominant share of decentralized tokenized-equity activity.
What This Means
The $465 million milestone suggests tokenized equities are moving beyond an experimental niche on Solana. The combination of recognizable public companies, continuous trading, and DeFi composability could attract more market participants and issuers to blockchain-based equity infrastructure.
Backpack’s volume figures also show that market impact may depend less on the number of tokens issued than on their liquidity and trading activity. If additional equities can achieve similar participation while maintaining reliable redemption and compliance processes, Solana’s lead in tokenized stocks may strengthen as the broader real-world asset market develops.
