RWA Chain Diversity Expands as Solana Gains Ground Against Ethereum
Ethereum remains the leading home for real-world assets, but Solana and other competing networks are capturing a larger share as tokenization becomes more competitive and adoption-focused.

Ethereum remains the dominant blockchain for real-world assets, but its lead is narrowing as Solana, BNB Chain, Stellar, and Avalanche attract a growing share of the market. The shift points to a more competitive tokenization landscape in which distribution, integrations, and real usage matter as much as headline market capitalization.
Ethereum’s RWA Lead Narrows
Ethereum currently accounts for more than 40% of the total real-world asset market capitalization. That remains the largest share among blockchains, but it represents a significant decline from nearly three-quarters of the market a year ago—almost a 30-percentage-point reduction.
Solana is among the networks benefiting from that redistribution. Alongside BNB Chain, Stellar, and Avalanche, it has gained approximately 6 percentage points on average over the past 12 months. The result is a more diverse RWA market, with token issuers increasingly able to choose among competing distribution networks and on-chain environments.
Tokenization itself carries minimal fees, making network competition less about basic issuance costs and more about attracting users, integrations, and liquidity. Partnerships between asset issuers and multiple blockchains are accelerating as more companies enter the market.
Market Capitalization Is Not Enough
The expansion of tokenized assets does not automatically translate into meaningful adoption. Tokenized stock market capitalization has climbed above $3 billion, yet only about 10% of that value is actively used in decentralized finance.
That gap highlights the difference between assets being issued and assets being used. Real adoption depends on whether tokenized shares can support trading, borrowing, and lending across functioning markets. As regulators provide greater clarity on tokenized equities, the research expects their use across DeFi venues to continue growing.
For Solana, the opportunity is therefore broader than attracting new RWA listings. The network must also support the venues, applications, and integrations that turn tokenized assets into active financial products.
What This Means
The RWA market is moving away from a single-chain model. Ethereum still commands the largest position, but the combined gains of Solana and other networks show that issuers are distributing assets across a wider competitive field.
- Ethereum: Still above 40% of RWA market capitalization, but down sharply year over year.
- Solana, BNB Chain, Stellar, and Avalanche: Each part of a group gaining share as tokenization expands.
- Tokenized equities: More than $3 billion in market capitalization, with roughly 10% actively used in DeFi.
The next phase will likely be measured less by issuance totals and more by liquidity and financial activity. Solana’s share gains are constructive, but sustained relevance will depend on converting RWA distribution into trading, lending, and borrowing demand.
