Shiba Inu (SHIB) Goes Live on Solana Through Wormhole-Powered Sunrise
Shiba Inu’s canonical Ethereum token is now represented on Solana through Sunrise, giving SHIB access to Solana-based markets, wallets, decentralized exchanges and aggregators without moving the asset’s origin from Ethereum.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has expanded to Solana through Sunrise, an asset gateway powered by Wormhole Labs. The integration gives Solana users access to the Ethereum token’s canonical form within the network’s decentralized finance ecosystem, while leaving the original asset and Shibarium unchanged.
What Sunrise Brings to Solana
Sunrise is designed to bring assets from external blockchain ecosystems into Solana through a recognized, canonical Solana representation. For SHIB, that means users can access and trade the asset across Solana-based applications without leaving the network to interact with Ethereum markets.
The gateway’s role extends beyond creating a token representation. According to the report, Sunrise also supports liquidity provisioning and integrations with wallets, decentralized exchanges and aggregators. Those connections are intended to make externally issued assets easier to discover and use throughout Solana’s application ecosystem.
The canonical approach is significant because multiple unofficial versions of the same asset can otherwise appear on a blockchain. That can divide liquidity, create confusion for users and complicate integrations. Sunrise instead seeks to establish a Solana mint approved by the asset’s issuer, providing a clearer reference point for applications and market participants.
SHIB Is Expanding, Not Migrating
The Solana launch does not mean that SHIB is leaving Ethereum. The token’s original form remains an ERC-20 asset, and the announcement does not represent a migration of Shibarium to Solana. Instead, Sunrise is bringing a canonical Solana representation of SHIB to enable trading and usage in Solana markets.
The integration follows a broader expansion of Sunrise’s supported assets:
- MON, the native token associated with Monad, was among the gateway’s major listings when Sunrise launched in November 2025.
- Dogecoin reached Solana through Sunrise and Wormhole NTT in September.
- PEPE became accessible across Solana applications through Sunrise on Sept. 18.
This progression places SHIB alongside other widely recognized, externally originated tokens now gaining access to Solana’s liquidity venues and application layer.
What This Means
The immediate market reaction to the announcement has been limited, with the report describing little meaningful price response for SHIB. However, the launch expands the token’s on-chain trading options and gives Solana users a more direct route to one of the crypto market’s largest meme coins.
For Solana, the development reinforces the network’s role as a venue for multichain asset access. For SHIB holders and applications, the value of the integration will depend on liquidity, wallet and exchange support, and whether users adopt the canonical Solana representation rather than unofficial alternatives.
