Solana Records $5 Trillion in Stablecoin Volume in 2026
Solana has processed $5 trillion in stablecoin volume through Oct. 22, with transfer activity accelerating despite a slight decline in supply from September’s record.

Solana has processed $5 trillion in stablecoin volume so far in 2026, according to the network’s official account. The milestone was reached by Oct. 22, leaving more than two months for additional activity before the year ends.
Transfer Activity Outpaces Supply
The figure measures the total value of stablecoins changing hands on Solana, rather than the amount held on the network. Stablecoins are digital tokens designed to maintain a stable value, typically through a one-to-one peg with the U.S. dollar.
September was a particularly strong month for the network. Stablecoin supply reached a record $17.51 billion, while Solana recorded 557 million stablecoin transfers. No other tracked blockchain posted more transfers during the month, according to the research cited by Crypto Briefing.
Solana’s share of overall stablecoin supply remains comparatively modest, at roughly 5%. However, adjusted transfer data indicates that the network captured between 32% and 36% of global stablecoin transfer volume during peak months in 2026.
- Stablecoin volume in 2026: $5 trillion through Oct. 22
- September stablecoin supply: $17.51 billion record
- September stablecoin transfers: 557 million
- Solana’s estimated share of global adjusted transfer volume: 32%-36% during peak months
Supply has eased slightly since September’s high, but cumulative transaction volume has continued to rise into late October. That divergence suggests stablecoin activity is increasing even as the capital parked on the network fluctuates.
Payments and Network Performance
At Money20/20 USA, Amir A. Valliani of the Solana Foundation pointed to growing interest from major payment companies. Western Union and other firms are exploring or expanding the use of stablecoin technology on Solana, although the extent of any deployments varies between pilots and broader production use.
Samsung also plans to integrate USDC transfers into its Galaxy wallet. The proposed integration could provide access to as many as 82 million U.S. devices, though that figure represents potential reach rather than confirmed active users.
Solana’s planned Alpenglow consensus upgrade is expected to reduce transaction finality to approximately 150 milliseconds. The improvement could strengthen the network’s appeal for payments and other applications that depend on rapid settlement, but its performance under real-world load remains to be demonstrated.
What This Means
The $5 trillion milestone reinforces Solana’s position as a high-throughput venue for stablecoin transfers and supports the case for using the network in payments, trading, and settlement. Continued involvement from payment firms and wallet providers could broaden that use beyond crypto-native activity.
Still, volume is a busy metric. Automated trading, arbitrage bots, and repeated transfers between the same parties can inflate totals. Adjusted data attempts to remove some of that noise, but the headline figure should not be treated as a direct measure of unique users or economic value. The durability of Solana’s stablecoin growth will depend on whether planned integrations and institutional experiments become sustained, real-world usage.
