Solana Launches Frontier Rewards Program to Attract Professional Traders Onchain
The Solana Foundation has launched Frontier Traders, a network-wide rewards program that lets high-volume participants qualify for rebates and VIP benefits across 16 trading venues.

The Solana Foundation has rolled out Frontier Traders, a network-level rewards program designed to bring professional traders, market makers, and hedge funds further onchain. The initiative aggregates activity across 16 founding venues and offers benefits that resemble the incentives traditionally associated with centralized exchanges.
A Cross-Venue VIP Program
Frontier Traders uses a volume-based VIP structure rather than tying rewards to a single exchange or decentralized venue. Participants can spread their trading activity across the participating ecosystem while still qualifying for program benefits.
The founding venues collectively represent more than 90% of Solana’s spot and perpetual trading volume, giving the program broad coverage across the network’s trading markets. More than 2,000 traders enrolled shortly after the rollout, according to the research source.
Key benefits include:
- Cross-venue trading rebates ranging from 0.001% to 0.005%.
- Priority access to RPC infrastructure for faster and more reliable network connections.
- Dedicated account management for eligible participants.
- Community events and promotional trading campaigns.
The entry-level tier requires at least $10 million in 30-day trading volume. Thresholds increase through the VIP structure, with the highest tier requiring $5 billion or more in monthly volume. At the top rebate rate, a trader executing $5 billion in volume would receive approximately $250,000 in rebates.
Incentives for Venues and Traders
The program is aimed primarily at sophisticated market participants, but its design also gives smaller venues a way to compete for order flow. Rather than independently funding large maker rebates or building a standalone loyalty program, participating decentralized exchanges can use Frontier’s shared incentives to attract and retain high-volume traders.
Flint Trade became an official venue on September 1, 2026, making activity on the platform eligible for Frontier VIP incentives. The program has also included promotional campaigns, including a $25,000 prize pool connected to a SpaceX trading event in June.
By including priority RPC access alongside financial rewards, Frontier extends its pitch beyond lower trading costs. Faster and more dependable connectivity can be particularly valuable to market makers and other participants whose strategies depend on execution speed and consistent access to the network.
What This Means
Frontier Traders positions Solana as a coordinated trading ecosystem rather than a collection of competing venues. For professional participants, the ability to aggregate volume across platforms could reduce the opportunity cost of splitting activity between decentralized exchanges and improve the value of onchain trading incentives.
The program also gives Solana venues a common customer-acquisition tool subsidized by the Foundation. Its long-term impact will depend on whether rebates, infrastructure access, and cross-venue benefits translate into sustained volume rather than short-term incentive-driven activity. Still, the launch marks a direct effort to make Solana’s trading environment more competitive with centralized exchange VIP programs.
