Solana’s Stocklana Hackathon Draws 604 Submissions for $126,000 in Prizes
Solana’s first tokenized-equities hackathon attracted 1,182 registrants and 604 project submissions, highlighting developer interest in markets that operate around the clock.

Solana’s Stocklana hackathon closed with 604 project submissions competing for a combined $126,000 in prizes. The event focused on tokenized stocks and related applications designed for markets that remain open beyond traditional exchange hours.
A New Developer Competition Platform
The Solana Foundation launched Stocklana on September 11, 2026, making it the first event hosted on hackathons.solana.com, the foundation’s new self-serve platform for running developer competitions.
Organizers initially planned a one-week sprint, but extended the competition before setting the final submission deadline for September 25. By the close of the event, 1,182 people had registered and developers had submitted 604 projects.
The prize pool was divided between a main competition track and partner-funded bounties:
- $100,000 was allocated to the main Stocklana track.
- $26,000 came from ecosystem partner side-track prizes.
- Partners included PreStocks, Tessera, and Meteora.
The platform debut gives the foundation a direct test of whether a self-service model can support larger and more specialized developer events across the Solana ecosystem.
Building Around 24/7 Equity Markets
Stocklana centered on tokenized stocks—blockchain-based representations of equities that can potentially trade at any hour. Unlike conventional exchanges, which generally close overnight and pause on weekends, Solana-based markets can operate continuously.
The hackathon’s focus reflected existing activity in the ecosystem. By mid-September 2026, Solana’s tokenized-equity market had more than 800,000 holders, while 63% of trading volume reportedly occurred outside conventional market hours. That activity suggests the primary use case for tokenized equities may be periods when traditional venues are unavailable.
The partner bounties also pointed to several areas developers are exploring:
- PreStocks focuses on tokenized pre-IPO shares, potentially expanding access to companies before they list publicly.
- Tessera works on bringing private-equity ownership on-chain.
- Meteora contributed expertise around Dynamic Bonding Curves, pricing mechanisms that adjust an asset’s price as buying and selling activity changes.
What This Means
Stocklana’s participation figures provide an early signal that tokenized-equity infrastructure is attracting substantial developer attention on Solana. The event also connects 24/7 trading capabilities with harder-to-access markets such as pre-IPO and private companies.
The submissions do not guarantee that these applications will reach production or overcome regulatory, liquidity, and investor-protection challenges. However, the scale of participation and the concentration of activity outside regular market hours suggest that continuous trading is becoming a meaningful design objective for Solana’s tokenized-asset ecosystem.
