Upexi Positions 2.3 Million SOL Treasury as Long-Term Corporate Bet
Upexi says its Solana treasury strategy combines staking, discounted locked-token purchases and balance-sheet discipline as it targets wider institutional adoption over the next three to five years.

Upexi told attendees at LD Micro that it has transformed into a Solana treasury company, holding approximately 2.3 million SOL after raising $300 million in total capital. Management presented the strategy as a measured approach to accumulating digital assets while reducing corporate leverage and operating costs.
Treasury Strategy and Balance-Sheet Discipline
The company said its holdings are split between approximately 67% unlocked SOL and 33% locked SOL. Upexi purchased the locked tokens at an estimated 14% to 15% discount to par value, while staking activities generate an annual yield of roughly 5% to 6%.
Management tracks its position through a Solana-per-share metric, which it said stood at about 0.06 SOL per share and is updated daily on the company’s website. Using a reference price of $105 per SOL, executives argued that the treasury has grown on a per-share basis rather than simply expanding through additional equity issuance.
Key metrics highlighted in the presentation included:
- Approximately 2.3 million SOL held in the treasury.
- About $300 million raised to fund the strategy.
- Roughly 35% growth in Solana per share over the past year, according to management.
- Headcount reductions, debt reduction and share repurchases during weaker crypto-market conditions.
Upexi said it uses qualified custodians and diversified third-party providers to manage its holdings. The company also emphasized that it avoids “on-chain degen trading” and liquid-staking-token looping, favoring what executives described as institutional-grade operational and risk controls.
Upexi’s Adoption Thesis for Solana
Executives characterized Solana as a high-performance smart-contract network designed for large-scale applications rather than only a payments ledger. They pointed to parallel transaction processing and cited approximately 5 million daily active users as evidence of growing network reach.
The company also highlighted emerging use cases, including tokenized equities and AI-agent payments. According to Upexi’s presentation, Solana represents about 97% of spot trading volume in tokenized equities and is leading activity around the x402 payments protocol for AI agents. Management additionally referenced relationships involving firms such as Visa, Mastercard, Western Union, Citi, BlackRock and Société Générale.
Upexi’s outlook is measured in years rather than quarters. The company said broader adoption could take three to five years, with financial services potentially becoming the first major sector to use blockchain infrastructure at scale. It also argued that regulatory clarity from the SEC and CFTC could encourage more corporations to adopt blockchain rails behind the scenes.
What This Means
Upexi’s presentation reflects a growing corporate-treasury model in which exposure to SOL is paired with staking income, discounted acquisitions and per-share accumulation targets. The approach could give public-market investors a more direct route to Solana exposure, but it also leaves the company sensitive to token volatility, custody risks and the execution of its capital strategy.
For Solana, the significance is broader than Upexi’s holdings. If additional companies adopt similar treasury structures, demand could become more persistent and institutionally oriented. That outcome remains dependent on regulation, liquidity and real-world usage, but Upexi is betting that the network’s next growth phase will be driven by corporate adoption rather than short-term market enthusiasm.
