xStocks Weekend DEX Volume Jumps from $2.4 Million to $55.2 Million
Tokenized stock trading on Solana accelerated after Wall Street closed, with xStocks’ median weekend-day DEX volume rising roughly 23-fold between July and September.

Tokenized equities on Solana are seeing sharply higher activity outside traditional market hours. The median weekend-day trading volume for xStocks rose from $2.4 million in July to $55.2 million in September, a roughly 23-fold increase over two months while the New York Stock Exchange was closed.
Weekend Trading Accelerates
xStocks, a tokenized equities platform from Backed Finance, issues SPL tokens representing U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds. Each token is backed 1:1 by an underlying stock or ETF, giving traders access to blockchain-based versions of familiar financial products.
Because decentralized exchanges operate continuously, traders can buy and sell these assets after traditional markets shut for the weekend. The reported growth indicates that tokenized equities are becoming more active during periods when conventional equity venues offer no trading access.
Key indicators from the period include:
- Median weekend-day xStocks volume increased from $2.4 million in July to $55.2 million in September.
- xStocks exceeded $1 billion in 30-day DEX volume by Sept. 15.
- That 30-day volume represented a 1,011.8% month-over-month increase.
- Tokenized equities recorded $3.96 billion in weekend DEX volume during September.
The September weekend figure was 106 times higher than the comparable level in the previous November, according to the research. The flagship SPYx token tracks the S&P 500 ETF and is among the products driving activity in the category.
Raydium Dominates the Activity
Raydium accounted for approximately 75% of xStocks trading activity, making it the ecosystem’s de facto weekend stock exchange. Its dominance underscores both the liquidity available on Solana and the concentration risk created when most trading depends on a single venue.
The broader tokenized-equity market has expanded alongside trading volumes. Total value locked grew from $21.6 million in January to $289 million by September. xStocks also operates in a competitive landscape that includes bStocks, with tokenized shares trading across venues such as Uniswap and PancakeSwap.
What This Means
The data points to growing demand for around-the-clock access to tokenized financial assets and highlights Solana’s role in bringing equity exposure into decentralized markets. Weekend liquidity could become a meaningful advantage for tokenized stocks, particularly for traders seeking exposure when U.S. exchanges are closed.
However, the market remains dependent on venue depth, token backing and protocol resilience. Raydium’s roughly three-quarters share of xStocks activity creates a clear concentration risk, while competition among platforms may determine whether liquidity becomes more distributed. Average monthly tokenized-equity volumes are projected to reach between $7.9 billion and $18 billion by year-end, setting a high bar for continued growth.
