DeFi Development Corp. Adds 5,346 SOL, Raising Treasury to 2.595 Million SOL
Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp. expanded its Solana treasury while continuing to stake its holdings and increasing the dividend on its Series C preferred stock.

Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp. added 5,346 SOL to its corporate treasury as of October 26, 2026, lifting its reported holdings to approximately 2,595,612 SOL. The purchase extends the company’s ongoing strategy of raising public-market capital to accumulate and stake Solana.
Treasury Growth Continues
The company, which trades under the ticker DFDV, previously reported holding 2,590,266 SOL in mid-October. Its latest disclosure shows that the treasury has continued to grow through a series of purchases made since late September.
Recent additions reported by the company include:
- 47,706 SOL in late September
- 22,070 SOL in early October
- 3,983 SOL on October 16
- 5,346 SOL as of October 26
DeFi Development Corp. has raised hundreds of millions of dollars through public-market capital raises since 2025 to fund its Solana accumulation program. Rather than keeping the assets inactive, the company operates its own validators and stakes its SOL to generate network rewards.
Preferred Stock Payout Rises
Alongside the treasury update, DeFi Development Corp. announced a higher payout for its Variable Rate Series C Perpetual Preferred Stock, which trades under the ticker CHAD.
The annual dividend rate will increase from 13% to 14%, effective November 2, 2026. The change adds a separate income-focused component to the company’s broader digital-asset treasury strategy, linking its public securities structure with its continued exposure to Solana.
The company’s approach gives investors an avenue for gaining exposure to a large SOL position through a listed corporate vehicle. At the same time, its reliance on capital raises means the pace of treasury growth remains connected to its ability to access public markets.
Solana’s Alpenglow Upgrade
The latest purchase also follows the reported October 21 activation of Alpenglow, a Solana consensus upgrade designed to reduce transaction finality to approximately 150 milliseconds. Finality refers to the point at which a transaction is considered irreversible.
For a treasury operator that runs validators and stakes SOL, network performance and validator participation are directly relevant to the company’s operating model. Faster finality could strengthen Solana’s appeal for applications and financial activity, although the purchase disclosure does not attribute the acquisition specifically to the upgrade.
What This Means
DeFi Development Corp.’s latest acquisition reinforces the emergence of listed companies using Solana as a core treasury asset rather than a short-term trading position. Its validator and staking operations provide a way to seek rewards alongside potential asset appreciation, while the increased CHAD dividend may broaden the company’s appeal to income-oriented investors.
The development is institutionally constructive for Solana because it adds another visible corporate holder and operator to the network. However, continued accumulation will depend on future fundraising, market conditions, SOL prices, and the company’s ability to manage the risks of maintaining a concentrated crypto treasury.
