MoneyGram Brings Cash-to-Crypto Ramps to Solana
MoneyGram's Ramps service now supports Solana, plugging wallets and exchanges into 500,000+ retail cash locations across 170+ countries — the second blockchain behind Stellar to get the integration.

MoneyGram's fiat on/off-ramp network just plugged into Solana.
MoneyGram has extended its Ramps service — the infrastructure that bridges cash and crypto — to the Solana blockchain, making it the second network to get the integration after Stellar. Wallets, exchanges, and developers can now tap into MoneyGram's cash network directly on Solana.
Rift wallet leads the way
Rift wallet is the first Solana-native integration partner to go live with Ramps, giving its users a direct path between cash and on-chain assets through MoneyGram's existing retail footprint.
The scale behind the announcement
MoneyGram operates through roughly 500,000 retail locations spanning more than 170 countries, serving over 60 million customers globally. Ramps supports cash deposits in 25+ countries and cash withdrawals across 170+ countries and territories — a distribution network most crypto-native on/off-ramp providers can't come close to matching.
One API, no banking build-out
The integration ships through the Solana Developer Platform's payments module, letting developers pull in MoneyGram's fiat on/off-ramp infrastructure through a single API instead of negotiating their own banking relationships and compliance stack from scratch.
Part of a deepening Solana relationship
This isn't MoneyGram's first Solana move. In June 2026, the company became a Solana validator and joined the Solana Developer Platform — steps that read less like a one-off integration and more like a deliberate, multi-phase bet on Solana as infrastructure.
Signal take: This is a distribution story, not a technology story — MoneyGram's 500,000 cash locations and 60M+ customer base is the kind of real-world on-ramp reach most crypto rails can't buy. Pairing that with the June validator and developer-platform moves suggests MoneyGram is building toward Solana as a primary settlement rail, not just checking a partnership box.
