Mubadala Capital Launches $75M Tokenized Fund on Solana via Kaio
Abu Dhabi’s sovereign-linked asset manager brings private markets on-chain across Solana, Base, and Sui, signaling a major leap for institutional tokenization.
Mubadala Capital, the investment arm of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company (~$430B AUM), launched a tokenized version of its Alternative Solutions Fund (MCAS-TA) on July 23, 2026. The fund attracted $75 million in on-chain commitments at launch, deploying across Solana, Coinbase’s Base, and Sui. KAIO, a UAE-based tokenization platform, handles compliance and distribution.
Why This Matters
Private market funds are notoriously illiquid and inaccessible. Tokenization compresses barriers by putting compliance, ownership, and transfer mechanics on-chain. Unlike simple bond wrappers, this fund deals with private equity exposure—a harder problem. The $75 million launch is a demand signal for sovereign-linked managers. Solana’s high throughput and growing institutional presence make it a key distribution channel.
KAIO’s Growing Footprint
KAIO previously powered tokenized offerings from BlackRock and Hamilton Lane, with cumulative TVL of $150–$200 million. This deal pushes that higher. The multi-chain strategy lets Mubadala tap different investor bases: Solana for throughput, Base for Coinbase’s ecosystem, and Sui for its object-based data model.
What This Means
This is one of the most significant validations of Solana for institutional RWA tokenization. If successful, it could pave the way for other sovereign wealth funds to follow. The impact on SOL price may be indirect but strengthens the narrative that Solana is the leading blockchain for real-world assets.
