Tokenized Assets Reach $46.1B Onchain as Solana Trails Ethereum
The market for tokenized real-world assets has grown roughly 920% in three years, although Ethereum remains the dominant settlement network and methodology differences complicate comparisons.

Tokenized assets excluding stablecoins now represent an onchain market worth $46.1 billion, according to data cited from Token Terminal. The market has expanded approximately 920% over the past three years, while Solana remains behind Ethereum in the distribution of tokenized real-world assets.
What’s Actually Onchain
Data dated October 25, 2026, places the total slightly higher at $46.3 billion. The market is concentrated across a small number of categories, with three segments accounting for roughly 66% of the total:
- U.S. Treasury bills: $13.3 billion
- Yield strategies: $11.6 billion
- Credit funds: $5.7 billion
Treasury bills remain the largest individual category, but their share is now below one-third of the overall tokenized-asset market. The figures suggest that onchain asset markets are broadening beyond government debt into products designed to generate yield and provide exposure to private credit.
Tokenized gold contributes another $5.1 billion, adding to the range of real-world assets represented on blockchains. The data does not include stablecoins, which remain a separate and substantially larger segment of digital-asset markets.
Reported totals vary depending on how trackers define and measure tokenized assets. rwa.xyz, for example, reported distributed real-world assets worth nearly $39 billion in late October 2026. The difference from Token Terminal’s estimate reflects differing methodologies and boundaries around which assets qualify as tokenized.
Ethereum Leads, Solana Follows
Ethereum remains the primary venue for tokenized real-world assets, with its share often exceeding 50% of the market. BNB Chain, Solana, and Stellar follow as the next-largest networks, though the source does not provide individual market-share figures for those chains.
The distribution also highlights a gap between tokenization and decentralized finance. Only approximately 14% to 15% of tokenized real-world asset value is currently deployed in DeFi. Most assets therefore remain onchain without being actively used as collateral, liquidity, or yield-bearing components in decentralized protocols.
What This Means
The expansion to more than $46 billion indicates that tokenization is becoming a broader market structure rather than a niche Treasury product. The declining dominance of T-bills within the category points to growing interest in yield strategies, credit funds, and commodities such as gold.
For Solana, the figures show both a competitive challenge and an opportunity. Ethereum’s lead gives it the deepest existing base for tokenized assets, while Solana’s position among the trailing networks leaves room to capture future issuance and DeFi activity. The relatively small share of assets currently used in DeFi also suggests that the next phase of growth may depend less on issuance alone and more on whether blockchains can turn tokenized assets into liquid, composable financial products.
