@MastrXYZ @solanamobile Of all the projects to praise, I struggle to see why this one deserved it. I bought that phone a year ago. Phone is not great. The apps are not great. The token price not great. Team seem to larp nonstop & haven’t achieved shit over the course of an entire year 🎪

Seeker is a crypto-focused smartphone from Solana Mobile, the successor to the Saga device. More broadly, Solana Mobile is an effort to build an open, community-governed mobile platform as an alternative to the Apple and Google duopoly, where app distribution and discovery are controlled by centralized gatekeepers.
The platform includes the Solana dApp Store, an app store positioned outside the standard mobile-platform rules, and began with the Saga and Seeker devices, with the stated ambition of expanding across additional hardware manufacturers.
Its coordination layer is called TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network), an architecture meant to coordinate hardware and software into a single secure ecosystem, using token incentives to bootstrap participants in a way the whitepaper compares to DePIN networks.
The SKR token governs this ecosystem through stake-based decision-making by users, developers, and curators. Governance power is allocated to "Guardians," who verify the status of devices on the network and admit applications to the Solana dApp Store. In its initial phase SKR functions only as a coordination and curation tool; the whitepaper states that participants may later be able to redeem SKR for discounts or rebates on costs tied to participating in the mobile ecosystem.
