Jupiter Partners With BitGo to Launch Institutional SOL Validator
Jupiter and BitGo have introduced a dedicated validator that allows institutional clients to stake SOL while keeping assets in BitGo custody.

Jupiter and BitGo have launched a dedicated Jupiter x BitGo validator, giving institutional clients a way to stake SOL without transferring assets out of BitGo’s custody. The arrangement is designed to preserve existing custody structures while allowing institutions to earn protocol staking rewards.
Institutional Staking Without Custody Changes
Under the partnership, clients can continue holding their SOL through BitGo’s custody infrastructure while delegating assets to the new validator. The model is aimed at institutions that want staking exposure but may be unable or unwilling to move assets into a separate wallet or validator operating environment.
The companies said the arrangement allows clients to retain their existing custody relationships and operational controls. That could make staking more accessible to asset managers, funds and other professional holders whose custody policies require assets to remain with an established provider.
Key features of the setup include:
- Institutional SOL staking through a dedicated Jupiter x BitGo validator.
- Assets remaining in BitGo cold storage rather than being transferred to an external staking wallet.
- Continued eligibility for protocol staking rewards.
- Custody protections that include up to $250 million in insurance and bankruptcy-remote arrangements, according to the report.
Why Validator Access Matters
Jupiter Chief Operating Officer Kash Dhanda described validator operation as a way to invest in Solana’s base layer. The comments position the partnership as more than a staking-access arrangement: it also gives Jupiter a direct role in supporting the network’s validator infrastructure.
BitGo Head of APAC Sales Abel Seow said staking has become an important part of how institutions manage their SOL holdings. For professional investors, staking can potentially add a reward component to an existing SOL allocation, although returns remain subject to network conditions, validator performance and applicable fees.
The partnership arrives as institutional participation in digital assets increasingly depends on infrastructure that combines blockchain functionality with familiar controls around custody, insurance and insolvency risk. By keeping assets within BitGo’s established framework, the validator may reduce some of the operational barriers associated with institutional staking.
What This Means
The Jupiter–BitGo validator strengthens the connection between Solana’s staking economy and institutional custody services. Its significance is less about introducing a new retail staking product and more about creating a compliant-looking operational path for institutions that already hold SOL with BitGo.
If similar arrangements expand, more institutional SOL could be delegated without requiring custody migrations. That may deepen validator participation and increase the role of professional infrastructure providers in Solana’s network economy. The available announcement does not disclose assets committed, expected staking volume or fee terms, so the partnership’s immediate economic impact remains uncertain.
