Solana’s Stablecoin Card Spending Reaches Record $141 Million in October
Stablecoin-funded card purchases on Solana surged 478% year over year as payment activity continued setting monthly records across the network.

Solana’s stablecoin-funded card spending reached an estimated $141 million in October, marking the network’s strongest month yet for real-world stablecoin payments. The result extends a record-setting run and highlights growing use of dollar-denominated digital assets for everyday transactions.
A Record-Breaking Payment Trend
October’s volume built on a sharp increase in September, when stablecoin-linked card spending on Solana reached $113.9 million, according to on-chain data tracked by Paymentscan. One year earlier, the comparable figure was $19.7 million, representing a 478% year-over-year increase.
Preliminary research indicated that October’s final total could rise above the approximately $141 million estimate. More significantly, the figure was not an isolated spike: Solana’s stablecoin card spending has established successive monthly records throughout the year.
Stablecoin card activity across the broader crypto market has also expanded. Tracked spending across all networks reached approximately $1.17 billion in September, although some estimates placed the total as high as $1.37 billion. Solana generally ranks third by on-chain volume share, behind Base and Optimism.
- Solana September 2026 volume: $113.9 million
- Solana October 2026 volume: approximately $141 million
- Solana volume one year earlier: $19.7 million
- Total tracked cross-network volume in September: approximately $1.17 billion
Stablecoin Infrastructure Behind the Growth
Broad merchant acceptance from partnerships with major card networks such as Visa has helped connect crypto-funded cards to conventional payment systems. Issuer incentives are also supporting adoption. RedotPay, one of the leading card programs, recorded roughly $402 million in card volume over a recent 30-day period while attracting users with rewards.
Solana’s low transaction fees and high throughput make the network suited to settling large numbers of smaller payments. The stablecoin mix is heavily concentrated in dollar-linked assets: USDC represents about 58% of stablecoin card volume, while USDT accounts for approximately 26%.
Card payments represent only part of Solana’s broader stablecoin economy. The network’s stablecoin supply has surpassed $15 billion, peaking at roughly $17.3 billion to $17.5 billion in September. More than 14 million stablecoin-holding addresses were recorded by early October, creating a broad base of wallets that could potentially connect to card products.
What This Means
Solana has now processed more than $1 billion in cumulative stablecoin card volume, strengthening the case that stablecoins are becoming a practical payments rail rather than solely a trading instrument. Continued card adoption could increase transactional demand for USDC, USDT, and Solana settlement infrastructure.
The network is also developing related infrastructure, including delivery-versus-payment frameworks for atomic settlement. By ensuring that both sides of a transaction settle simultaneously—or not at all—such systems could reduce counterparty risk and support more sophisticated payment and financial use cases. The key question is whether recent card-volume growth can broaden into durable everyday usage beyond incentive-driven programs.
