GoPro Tokenized Shares Go Live on Solana Through Sunrise
Backpack Securities has launched 1:1-backed GoPro shares on Solana, expanding the network’s tokenized-equity market and giving crypto-native users access to GPRO through on-chain infrastructure.

Tokenized shares of GoPro are now live on Solana, giving crypto-native investors a blockchain-based way to gain exposure to the action-camera company without using a conventional brokerage account. The offering trades under the ticker $GPRO through the Sunrise asset gateway.
Backpack Securities Expands Its Tokenized-Equity Platform
The shares are issued by Backpack Securities, a regulated U.S. broker that began building its tokenized-equities platform on Solana in June 2026. Each tokenized GoPro share is backed 1:1 by an actual GoPro share held in custody, with holders able to convert their position back into traditional brokerage entitlements.
GoPro joins a growing list of assets offered through the platform. Backpack Securities launched its tokenized-equity push on June 12, 2026, with SpaceX, whose private-market shares are typically difficult for ordinary investors to access. The broker has since added publicly traded companies including Micron and Moderna.
The current lineup includes a mix of hard-to-access private exposure and familiar public equities:
- SpaceX: a private company whose shares are difficult to obtain through standard markets.
- Micron and Moderna: publicly traded companies now represented in tokenized form on Solana.
- GoPro: a public stock whose blockchain-based version emphasizes composability rather than basic market access.
Sunrise Provides the On-Chain Distribution Layer
Sunrise, an asset gateway developed by Wormhole Labs, is designed to simplify the process of bringing tokenized securities onto Solana. For each new listing, Sunrise establishes a canonical mint address, helping wallets and decentralized exchanges identify and distribute the official asset.
That infrastructure could make tokenized equities easier to use across the broader Solana ecosystem. Instead of remaining isolated in a brokerage interface, tokenized shares can potentially be held in self-custodial wallets, traded on decentralized exchanges, or integrated into decentralized finance applications, subject to applicable restrictions and platform support.
The market has already shown notable activity. Solana’s tokenized-equity ecosystem recorded more than $1 billion in weekly trading volume in June 2026, driven largely by newly available instruments. Whether $GPRO achieves comparable demand remains uncertain, since investors can already buy conventional GoPro shares through services such as Robinhood or Schwab.
What This Means
The GoPro launch illustrates how Solana’s tokenized-equity opportunity is shifting from simple access toward composability. For a widely available public stock, the main appeal is the ability to combine equity exposure with crypto-native custody, settlement, and trading venues.
Investors should also distinguish the official Backpack Securities offering from an unrelated Solana community token using the name $GOPRO. That token has no connection to GoPro Inc. or the regulated tokenized-share product, and the naming overlap creates a material risk of mistaken purchases.
